C. H. Robinson: AI-driven restructuring increases margins and productivity
C. H. Robinson presented a lean-AI strategy at the Global TMT Conference 2026 that has increased gross profit per employee by more than 60% since the end of 2022 and reduced headcount in North American over-the-road operations by about 30%. Management cites a proprietary dataset of 100 trillion data points, 450 engineers and annual AI token costs below $1.2 million as drivers of hundreds of millions of dollars of positive contribution to operating income. AI is being used broadly in offer creation, pricing, sales and back office, drastically reducing quote times and enabling pricing to be adjusted many times per hour. Despite a prolonged weak freight market, the company delivered more than 20% earnings growth in both 2024 and 2025 and expects further growth in 2026; management views legal risks from broker liability as manageable. » More on de.investing.com
C.H. Robinson posts higher margins despite ongoing 'Lupus' lawsuit
C.H. Robinson reported strong operating margins of 40% in North American over‑the‑road and 30% in global forwarding, and beat consensus estimates for earnings per share. The company highlights Lean AI, which now automates 100% of transactional NAST offerings and has materially increased productivity. At the same time, it is weighed down by a large damages award from Dallas ('Lupus'), which C.H. Robinson is appealing and expects will lead to a lengthy legal process. Management emphasizes disciplined capital allocation with continued share repurchases, is evaluating M&A options, and expects mixed demand while spot rates remain broadly stable. » More on de.investing.com
CH Robinson drops more than 7% after $604 million verdict
A Dallas jury issued a preliminary $604 million verdict against CH Robinson and two co-defendants over a 2021 truck accident, finding the company had allegedly hired a carrier with a known safety record. The verdict is one of the largest against a freight broker and follows a Supreme Court decision that makes brokers liable for carrier selection. Investors are pricing in increased financial risk and possible follow-up suits; the stock fell from $205.51 to a daily low of $188.00, while Q2 results on July 29 add further uncertainty. » More on de.investing.com
