Eos Energy jumps after project announcement with Google
Eos Energy, together with MN8 Energy and Google, announced the $350 million Mammoth Solar project in West Virginia, intended to power Google data centers around the clock via the PJM grid. The project combines an 86 MW solar array, Eos’s zinc-based long-duration storage (Z3) of 10 MW/100 MWh, and a lithium-ion storage system of 70 MW/280 MWh; commissioning is planned for 2028 (solar) and 2030 (long-duration storage). It is the first commercial deployment of a long-duration storage system in West Virginia and Google’s first domestic deployment of Z3 technology, which is seen as a vote of confidence in Eos and led to a strong premarket share surge. » More on de.investing.com
Solar project in West Virginia drives Eos Energy stock up 12%
Eos Energy is partnering with MN8 Energy and Google to build a solar and energy storage project in Kanawha County, West Virginia. The portfolio includes 86 MW of solar, a 10 MW/100 MWh Z3 zinc long-duration storage system from Eos and 70 MW/280 MWh of lithium-ion storage, providing dispatchable capacity to the PJM grid for Google's data centers. Commercial operations are planned for 2028 (solar), 2029 (Li-ion) and 2030 (long-duration storage); Google will offtake energy, capacity and renewable energy certificates. The project will cost up to $350 million, will be built on a reclaimed coal mine and is expected to generate local tax revenue and around 200 construction jobs. » More on de.investing.com
Eos Energy consolidates battery production in Thorn Hill and aims for cost reductions
Eos Energy is moving all battery manufacturing to Thorn Hill (Warrendale, PA), completing its Pittsburgh production plan. The consolidation — already factored into its annual revenue guidance of $300–350 million — is expected to reduce conversion costs by about 10–15% starting in 2027 and achieve a nameplate capacity of roughly 4 GWh. The move from Turtle Creek will begin in the fourth quarter and is expected to be finished in early 2027; assembly, testing and shipping in Turtle Creek (building 200) will remain in place. Eos plans to offer positions in Thorn Hill, building 200 or headquarters to about 250 affected employees and does not anticipate any impact on its delivery commitments to customers. » More on de.investing.com
