Fortum signs 22-year power supply deal with Google and shares jump sharply
Fortum's share rose about 10% after the announcement of a 22-year power purchase agreement with Google that covers up to 50% of the capacity of the Loviisa nuclear power plant. The contract secures revenues for the plant, supports a modernization and lifetime-extension program through 2050, and is likely to raise the group's return on net assets by roughly 1.4 percentage points once half the output is contractually committed. Fortum outperforms expectations for Q1 2026 and confirms annual outlook
Fortum reports Q1 2026 EPS of EUR 0.45 (expectation EUR 0.42) and revenue of EUR 1.99 billion (expectation EUR 1.94 billion). Operating result rose to EUR 521 million, net debt fell to EUR 1.5 billion and the liquidity reserve stands at EUR 6.4 billion.
