Prudential Financial unveils realignment: focus, market exits and cost cuts
At the KBW Insurance Conference, Prudential Financial announced a strategic realignment: exiting more than a dozen markets with expected proceeds well above $3 billion, cutting costs by $750 million by the end of 2028 (with $150 million by end‑2027), and reshaping PGIM into an integrated platform to raise its long‑term share of earnings from about 12% to 25%. Japan remains central—about 40% of profits—with operations to be gradually ramped back up over 12–18 months after distribution problems.
