RWE: full operation not expected until next week after attack on substation
After the attack on the Bergheim substation, three of the five affected power plant units are back on the grid; RWE Power says full operation is likely not expected until next week. RWE temporarily takes several power plant units out of service after sabotage at substations
Unknown perpetrators caused short circuits at substations near RWE power plants, affecting five blocks with around 4,200 MW and causing parts of the facilities to fail temporarily. RWE has already brought some blocks back online; two units are expected to be restarted only over the weekend. Investigators found launch devices; police are examining, among other things, a terrorism suspicion and interference with public utilities.
