Soitec sharply raises forecast for Photonics‑SOI, stock jumps more than 12%
Soitec has raised its revenue growth forecast for Q2 of fiscal 2027 to about 50% year‑on‑year (constant currency) after demand for Photonics‑SOI wafers for AI data centers accelerated. The company expects Q2 Photonics‑SOI revenue to reach roughly three times the prior‑year quarter, around $25m; the CEO’s target of more than $200m for the fiscal year is defined as a floor. Drivers are stronger customer demand, multi‑year supply contracts with upfront payments, flexible capacity adjustments and a market share of about 95% in the segment. The stock jumped about 12.5% to around €126 (day high €129.20). » More on de.investing.com
Soitec secures AI wafer demand with multi-year supply contracts
Soitec shares rose about 6% after the company tied up customers with multi-year capacity reservation contracts for photonics wafers. Around 80% of the contracts with more than ten customers are expected to be signed within one to two weeks; they include fixed prices, demand-linked deposits and refunds on purchase. Soitec expects revenue from photonics-SOI to rise in this fiscal year from just over $100m to more than $200m, sees its market share at about 95% and does not expect a new factory before 2029. » More on de.investing.com
Soitec leads Europe’s AI winners, DAX stagnates
European stocks climbed to record highs, driven by shares that supply AI infrastructure; Soitec headed the winners list with a gain of 414.5 percent, followed by AT&S and other semiconductor and technology names. The DAX was virtually unchanged at 26,140 points, supported by gains in Deutsche Telekom after an expanded share buyback program, while Siemens and Rheinmetall weighed on the index. In New York, investors were cautious, hit by losses at Salesforce and profit‑taking among memory makers; positive euro‑zone growth data and signs of easing tensions in the Middle East tempered oil‑price fears. » More on deraktionaer.de
