Walmart expects roughly $2.9 billion in tariff refunds and has already applied part of the benefit to cut prices on about 11,000 products, with the impact showing in the current fiscal third quarter. Home Depot received roughly $730 million and applied about $685 million to cost of goods, lifting gross margin modestly, while Lowe's said it will not cut prices and will prioritize profitability for shareholders. Analysts warn the refunds are a one-time benefit that only become lasting advantages if price cuts drive sufficient additional sales.
