Forvia Hella confirms guidance despite weaker first half

Forvia Hella is maintaining its full-year forecast after a first half that was predictably weaker. Currency-adjusted revenue rose to just over €4 billion, but operating profit fell by almost 10% to €214 million and the operating margin slipped to 5.4%. Forvia Hella confirms annual targets after weak start to year and expects margin improvement

Forvia Hella reports an operating result of €96m for Q1 (−12%) and a revenue decline of nearly 3% to €1.9bn, weighed down by a strong euro and weakness in the lighting business. The electronics segment grew thanks to high demand for radar sensors and became the largest group division for the first time. Cost reductions, including in R&D, offset part of the revenue decline; group profit rose slightly due to significantly lower restructuring costs.
