Shell is selling its 50 percent interest in the Na-Kika platform and the surrounding fields, including the Coulomb pipeline infrastructure, to subsidiaries of Talos Energy and Ridgewood Energy for about $1.7 billion. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year. In 2025 Shell sourced an average of 37,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day from the assets. In its annual LNG report, Shell says global supplies of liquefied natural gas could shrink in 2026 if disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz persist. The company expects physical deliveries in 2026 to be at about last year’s level, and forecasts growth again in 2027 provided shipping normalizes in the summer.
