Saxony courts Taiwanese chip suppliers at Semicon in Taiwan and expands ESMC partnerships with TSMC
The Free State of Saxony is presenting itself at the Semicon trade show in Taipei as a location for Taiwanese chip companies and is seeking closer cooperation with Taiwan. At the booth, plans for the ESMC factory were highlighted — a joint project of TSMC, Bosch, Infineon and NXP, with vehicle-chip production due to start in 2027. According to reports, more than 20 Taiwanese suppliers have established operations for ESMC in Saxony; TSMC supplier Topco Scientific plans a European subsidiary in Dresden in November.
