Mastercard detailed its Agent Pay protocol to authenticate AI shopping agents and fully tokenize transactions, and introduced Agent Pay for Machines (AP4M) to enable high-velocity machine-to-machine micro‑payments. CEO Michael Miebach said these protocols, combined with the planned acquisition of stablecoin platform BVNK, aim to provide an interoperable trust layer across card rails, stablecoins and other payment rails.
