Qualcomm unveils AI infrastructure plans and expands focus to cloud-to-edge

At the Deutsche Bank Technology Conference, Qualcomm announced plans to expand beyond mobile chips, focusing on High-Bandwidth Compute (HPC), edge computing, software stacks and the server CPU Dragonfly C1000. HPC is intended to address memory bandwidth and to deliver up to six times more tokens per watt than HBM; Gen‑1 is planned for 2027 and Gen‑2 for 2028. Dragonfly C1000 is scheduled to ship in the second half of 2028, with Meta named as the first customer.
