The Gym Group increases revenue and adjusted profit in first half – shares rise

The Gym Group reported for H1 2026 a 10% revenue increase to 133.1 million GBP and EBITDA less normalized rents (EBITDA LNR) of 30.8 million GBP (+12%). Adjusted profit before tax climbed 31% to 6.4 million GBP and free cash flow improved 10% to 27.7 million GBP. The company maintains a leverage ratio of 1.0x, plans at least 20 new openings in 2026 and expects EBITDA LNR at the upper end of the 60.5–62.0 million GBP range. The Gym Group plans 75 new sites in three years

The Gym Group will open at least 20 new studios in 2026 and accelerate expansion to around 75 locations over the next three years. The company targets a 30% return on capital and aims to operate at least 70 existing and new sites in the new design format by the end of 2026. The Gym Group reported revenue growth of 8% in 2025 to £244.9m and average membership of 945,000 (+4%). Adjusted EBITDA LNR rose 19% to £56.7m, the EBITDA margin climbed to 23% and free cash flow reached £38.3m. Net debt fell, the adjusted leverage ratio dropped to 1.0x, and a £10m share buyback programme was announced.
