Trip.com: options market signals 5.6% price swing after quarterly results

The options market implies an expected 5.6% move for Trip.com around the quarterly results on September 15 after market close. In three of the last eight quarterly reports the actual stock movement was markedly larger, for example +15.7% on August 27, 2025 versus an implied 4.7% move, and -17.3% on February 24, 2025 versus 5.7% implied. China fines Trip.com 5.18 billion yuan for abuse of market power

China's antitrust regulator SAMR has ordered Trip.com to pay 5.18 billion yuan (about USD 765 million), accusing the online travel provider of pressuring hotels into exclusive partnerships through best-price clauses and visibility controls. Trip.com must also return 122 million yuan in withheld deposits to hoteliers and said it will accept the measures and implement corrective actions.
