Albany International secures Salt Lake City plant after contract adjustments and new orders

Albany International has ended the strategic review of its Salt Lake City site and, following renegotiations with Sikorsky (Lockheed Martin), has decided to keep the plant. The modified CH-53K contract is expected to deliver positive cash flow starting in 2027. The company also received a contract extension for Boeing 787 fuselage frames and won new defense orders from an unnamed customer. Albany International advances enzymatic recycling for industrial textiles with Cyclezyme

Albany International is working with Cyclezyme on enzymatic processes for depolymerization and recycling of polyester- and polyamide-based industrial textiles. Cyclezyme has depolymerized material samples, developed several nylon-degrading enzymes, and conducted optimization and analytical work to improve degradation efficiency. The partners are preparing the next project phase for scaling and industrial applications.
