Codexis unveils enzymatic ECO‑Synthesis for siRNA and targets kilogram‑scale production by 2027

At the Cantor Fitzgerald conference, Codexis presented its ECO‑Synthesis platform for enzymatic siRNA manufacture as a capital‑ and solvent‑sparing alternative to solid‑phase organosynthesis, citing roughly 70% higher capital efficiency. Its innovation lab routinely produces 100 grams, plans 500 grams by late 2024/early 2025, and aims for kilogram‑scale production by the end of 2027. The company highlighted technical advances such as stereochemical control and initiation from a single nucleotide, and said it is in ongoing dialogue with the FDA on product specifications and comparability. Codexis beats Q1 2026 forecasts — revenue more than doubles

Codexis reported Q1 2026 EPS of -0.10 (expectation -0.16) and revenue of $15.2 million versus $14.79 million expected. Revenue rose 102.7% year over year, mainly due to a technology transfer agreement with Merck; product gross margin improved to 71%.
