ARCHIMED funds have signed a takeover agreement for Esperion that values the company at up to about $1.1 billion. Esperion sold funds from Athyrium the claim on tiered royalties for Otsuka’s bempedoic acid products in Japan for $50 million. Athyrium will receive, starting January 1, 2026, tiered royalties of 12–33% plus milestone payments until it recoups 2.0× its investment, after which the rights revert to Esperion.
