SMA Solar has opened an €80m manufacturing plant with over 60 GW of annual capacity to handle strong incoming orders. As of 30 June the order backlog stood at around €1.8bn versus €1.2bn a year earlier, driven mainly by storage solutions. For 2026 the company targets revenue of €1,625–1,725m; after H1 revenue of €686.6m, roughly €1bn is still needed. SMA Solar has opened a new manufacturing facility for inverter technology at its headquarters in Niestetal, investing around €80 million. The "Gigawatt Factory" is intended to produce equipment for large solar and energy projects and, at full capacity, reach more than 60 gigawatts of annual output.
