Tate & Lyle agrees £2.7bn takeover by Ingredion, up to 475 jobs at risk

Tate & Lyle has agreed to a £2.7bn takeover by US rival Ingredion at 615p per share, around 60% above pre-bid levels. The companies warned the deal could lead to a material workforce reduction of about 3%, roughly 475 roles worldwide. Ingredion says the combined group would generate about $9.9bn in annual revenue and $1.8bn in adjusted profits. Tate & Lyle: Glenn M. Fish resigns from board, Heather Harding to join

Glenn M. Fish has resigned his role as a non-executive director of Tate & Lyle after being appointed president and CEO of J.M. Huber Corporation. Heather Harding will be appointed to Tate & Lyle’s board with effect from 27 January 2026 and brings more than 25 years of operational experience in global industrial manufacturing. Harding will be Huber’s second representative on the board alongside Claudia Vaz de Lestapis; Fish was originally appointed to the board in connection with Tate & Lyle’s acquisition of C.P.
