The Edinburgh Investment Trust

For the six months to September 2025 Edinburgh Investment Trust posted a NAV total return of 7.9% and a share price total return of 10.2%, but trailed the FTSE All-Share, which returned 11.6%. Positive contributors included retail and consumer holdings such as Tesco, Whitbread and Dunelm; negatives were the lack of exposure to Rolls-Royce and an overweight in Haleon. The trust announced a first interim dividend of 7.6p, expects a second of the same amount and forecasts an annual dividend of 32.0p (around +11.1% versus the prior year) with a dividend yield of about 4.1%. Since the Global Fundamental Team of Liontrust took over management in March 2020 the annualised NAV return is 15.4%; non-UK holdings are at a multi-year low of 5.5%.
