thyssenkrupp announces 160–180 job cuts in chassis business

As part of a realignment of the Automotive Technology division, 160 to 180 positions will be cut at the Essen and Ennepetal sites. Primarily affected are roles in development and engineering as well as operational control and quality management; tasks are to be shifted to international competence centers and capacities adjusted. The steel division of thyssenkrupp is targeting a mid-term adjusted EBITDA of at least €1.2 billion with a margin of at least 11 percent and positive free cash flow. Ongoing restructuring measures and a cost-efficiency program are expected to contribute more than €800 million to EBITDA; of roughly 11,000 planned job cuts about 4,000 have already been implemented.
