GSK buys TCE cancer therapy from Chimagen for up to $750 million

GSK acquires a trispecific T‑cell engager (TCE) therapy from Chimagen and makes an upfront payment for worldwide rights; the deal could reach up to $750 million. GSK: Risvutatug Rezetecan reduces mortality risk by 54% in relapsed small‑cell lung cancer

In the phase III ARTEMIS‑008 study in China, the antibody‑drug conjugate Risvutatug Rezetecan (Ris‑Rez) reduced the risk of death versus topotecan by 54% (HR 0.46, p<0.0001) in 461 patients. Median overall survival was 18.5 months versus 10.3 months; median progression‑free survival was 7.2 versus 3.0 months. The objective response rate was 58.3% versus 12.6%; severe treatment‑related adverse events occurred in 60.9% (Ris‑Rez) versus 78.2% (topotecan). GSK shares rose 2.5% to 1,815 pence, supported by positive study results for lung cancer medicines. The drug Jideytro met its primary endpoint and produced complete or partial tumor shrinkage in 94% of participants.
