Veru relies on muscle protection with Enobosarm to differentiate in obesity market
Veru presents data showing that Enobosarm combined with semaglutide preserves muscle function and lean mass in older patients and shifts weight loss toward fat. The fully recruited phase‑IIb PLATEAU study (239 patients, 68 weeks) will provide an interim analysis in Q1 2027; the aim is to prepare a phase‑III program with about 4,500 patients. Veru reports patent protection for the combination until 2044, a supply agreement with Novo Nordisk and roughly 24 million USD in cash, which should secure liquidity until mid‑2027, but it still faces the usual clinical, regulatory and financing risks. » More on de.investing.com
Veru beats EPS estimate in 3rd quarter; PLATEAU study fully recruited
Veru reported an adjusted loss of $0.30 per diluted share in the 3rd quarter, beating the consensus estimate of $0.31. Net loss narrowed versus the prior period, aided by a lower share count and reduced G&A expenses, while R&D spending for the PLATEAU study increased. The Phase IIb PLATEAU study is fully recruited with 239 patients and is scheduled to deliver a planned interim analysis in Q1 2027; cash of $23.9 million is expected to fund operations beyond that analysis. The stock reacted only slightly positive premarket and remains near its 52-week low. » More on de.investing.com
Veru rises sharply after supply agreement with Novo Nordisk
Veru announced an agreement with Novo Nordisk for the free supply of Wegovy for the Phase‑2b PLATEAU study, in which enobosarm is being tested together with semaglutide in older adults with obesity. Novo Nordisk secured a right of first negotiation for future commercial opportunities for the enobosarm‑GLP‑1 combination, which investors saw as a vote of confidence. The announcement led to heavy trading volume and an intraday jump in Veru’s stock of about 167%, as the program builds on positive QUALITY data and provides the small‑cap with substantial cost relief. » More on de.investing.com
