Annaly Capital Management's EAD tops dividend for ninth consecutive quarter
Annaly Capital Management reported earnings available for distribution (EAD) of $0.79 per share in Q2, exceeding its $0.75 per share dividend for the ninth straight quarter. Rising EAD has supported two dividend increases this period and reversed prior declines, driven by scale, portfolio diversification across Agency MBS, residential credit and MSR, and reduced economic leverage. Management says it can earn attractive levered returns on new MSR, residential credit and Agency MBS investments and will allocate capital to the best opportunities, making the current dividend appear sustainable so long as EAD remains above payouts. Investors should monitor EAD closely, as declines would directly pressure the dividend. » More on finance.yahoo.com
