Bank of America sees Q3 investment banking fees down more than 10%

Bank of America expects third-quarter investment banking fees of about $1.6–$1.8 billion, a decline of at least 10% year over year from $2.0 billion. The bank attributes the drop to normalization across capital markets after an unusually strong first half, when IB fees reached $2.1 billion in Q2 and sales and trading hit a record $7.1 billion. Bank of America expects Bank of England to keep base rate at 3.75%

Bank of America expects the Bank of England to leave the base rate unchanged at 3.75% at the next meeting and to slow quantitative tightening from £70bn to £50bn starting in October 2026. It anticipates a 6-3 vote, with Pill, Greene and Mann as candidates for a hike, and sees only limited second-round effects from higher energy prices.
