Berentzen poised for sale to US spirits group Sazerac
Spirits manufacturer Berentzen has received a takeover offer from Sazerac worth €53.3 million. Sazerac intends to use Berentzen to strengthen access to the European market and to employ its bottling facilities for its own brands and private labels. Berentzen has been hit by declining demand for alcoholic beverages but returned a small profit of €2.4 million in 2025. The management board supports the sale provided Sazerac acquires more than 50% of the shares; if successful, Berentzen would be taken off the stock market. » More on faz.net
