Cyberattack weighs on Boston Scientific outlook
Boston Scientific says an eight-day cyberattack disrupted global operations and will likely cause it to miss Q3 and full-year 2026 guidance, although IT, sales and manufacturing systems have now been restored. Demand for WATCHMAN remains weak in the near term; U.S. procedures are expected to decline by the mid- to high-single digits in H2 2026, and market share in pulse field ablation (FARAPULSE) has fallen to about 50%. Management expects only minimal EPS growth in 2027 but anticipates a return to more typical growth in 2028, cites several product launches as drivers, and confirms the planned acquisition of Penumbra is on track to close by the end of 2026. » More on de.investing.com
Boston Scientific says cyberattack will prevent meeting 2026 sales and profit forecasts
Boston Scientific said an unauthorized activity on its IT systems first identified on August 25 disrupted manufacturing, sterilization and order processing, and it no longer expects to meet its previously issued third-quarter and full-year 2026 sales and adjusted profit targets. The company has restored major distribution centers and restarted most manufacturing, and expects to recover some lost revenue as it reduces backlogs. The full financial impact remains uncertain and Boston Scientific will provide an update with third-quarter results on October 28. » More on finance.yahoo.com
