C&C Group has agreed to acquire Asahi Group Holdings' Nectar Imports wholesale and distribution business in the UK for nominal consideration and will integrate the assets into its Matthew Clark Bibendum (MCB) operation. The deal includes the lease of Nectar Imports' Hindon depot, transfer of Asahi's Griffin Brewery direct distribution to MCB, and assumes supply arrangements for the Fuller, Smith & Turner on-trade estate. C&C says the acquisition will add customers and scale to MCB; Asahi will retain the Griffin Brewery and focus on brewing and brand building. C&C Group has acquired the Innis & Gunn beer and lager brand and global IP in a pre-packaged administration sale for £4.5m, taking full ownership after previously holding an 8% stake and acting as brewing partner. The group expects a rapid, low-risk integration into its existing brewing, commercial and supply chain operations and forecasts a small positive contribution to fiscal 2027.
