CME Group added to Baupost portfolio; open interest and Treasury Link cited as growth drivers
Baupost, led by Seth Klarman, opened a new position in CME Group, buying 619,000 shares worth roughly $136.7 million. CME reported modest Q2 revenue and adjusted EPS growth of about 1% while open interest rose 8% year over year, indicating healthy underlying trading activity. Management is targeting US Treasuries growth via a planned Treasury Link to better connect cash and futures markets, while competition from perpetual futures poses a key risk. The stock trades at a rich forward non-GAAP P/E of 22.42x, well above the sector median, though slightly below its five-year average. » More on finance.yahoo.com

CME Group plans compute futures on GPU rental prices for H100 and B200
CME Group, in partnership with Silicon Data, is launching two futures contracts on monthly GPU rental prices for NVIDIA H100 and B200, planned to start trading on October 5, 2026, subject to regulatory approval. The cash‑settled contracts mirror hourly rental rates and are intended to let companies hedge against volatile compute costs. The CFTC has opened a public consultation on compute derivatives; at the same time ICE and Architect are developing their own compute-power derivatives. Questions remain about market size, liquidity and whether the contracts cover all relevant project risks. » More on finanzen.net
