Man Group: AUM disappoints in Q1 after return of a major client
Man Group reports assets under management of $228.7bn in the first quarter, missing analysts' expectations of $231.3bn. Net outflows amounted to $1.6bn instead of expected inflows, with both alternatives (−$1.0bn) and long-only (−$0.6bn) affected. The main reason was the return by a single client of about $6bn from the systematic long-only segment; without this redemption, long-only flows would have been positive. Investment performance contributed $3.1bn to AUM, and total return and discretionary long-only strategies recorded inflows. » More on de.investing.com
Man Group posts record inflows of $29bn, margins under pressure
Man Group increased assets under management to $227.6bn and recorded record net inflows of around $28.7bn in fiscal 2025. Despite an adjusted EPS of $0.276 that beat expectations, management fees and the fee margin fell due to a shift toward long-only and private-market strategies. Adjusted pre-tax profit was $407m, performance fees declined, and investors reacted negatively to margin pressure, sending the stock lower. Management still sees growth potential from diversification, improved performance-fee optionality, and investments in technology and talent. » More on de.investing.com
