Sempra signs 20-year LNG supply deal with Petrobras for Port Arthur Phase 2
Sempra’s infrastructure subsidiary agreed to sell about 0.8 million tonnes per year of LNG to Petrobras under a 20-year sales and purchase agreement sourcing from Port Arthur LNG Phase 2. Trains 3 and 4 are expected to begin commercial operations in 2030 and 2031, and the contracted volume represents roughly 6.2% of Phase 2’s planned 13 mtpa capacity, improving visibility for future sales. The agreement does not disclose pricing or margins, so earnings impact remains uncertain; construction costs (about $12bn plus $2bn shared facilities), commissioning risks and Sempra’s reduced ownership stake in the infrastructure unit will determine long‑term returns. » More on finance.yahoo.com
