Edible Garden delivers USDA-certified organic basil exclusively to ShopRite stores
Edible Garden has begun supplying USDA-certified organic basil to Wakefern and is marketing the product through an exclusive program to participating ShopRite stores. According to the company, the basil is the first verified USDA organic product from controlled-environment agriculture (CEA) and was confirmed by an accredited certifier. Shoprite reports strong 2026 fiscal year with profit growth, shares slip slightly
Shoprite increased group revenue in the fiscal year to 28 June 2026 by 7.2% to 270.7 billion ZAR and adjusted earnings per share by 12.2% to 15.27 ZAR; operating profit grew by 8.4% to 16.2 billion ZAR. Drivers were margin expansion, cost control and the premium segment Checkers, as well as a 34.7% rise at delivery platform Sixty60 to 25.5 billion ZAR.
