Silvercorp Metals misses Q1 forecasts, stock rises despite production decline
Silvercorp Metals reported adjusted earnings of 0.24 CAD per share and revenue of about 139 million CAD, missing consensus expectations. The result, however, improved sharply year‑on‑year (revenue +70%), driven by a 135% rise in realized silver prices and strong cash generation. Production fell (silver -17%) due to voluntary shutdowns and safety upgrades in China, but the company holds 387 million CAD in cash and roughly 690 million CAD of available liquidity. Management expects only 40–50% of originally planned production in Q2, remains committed to several development projects in Ecuador and Kirgisistan, and will adjust the full‑year guidance only when visibility improves. » More on de.investing.com
