Sony says last discmaking plant will cut production by 10% in 2028

Sony’s discmaking division corrected earlier reports, saying its Thalgau plant will see a 10% decline in product volume in 2028, not a drop to 10% of prior output. The company has not confirmed whether the facility’s staff are being retrained or fully restructured, and provided no further details. Sony revives WH-1000XM4 as WH-1000XM4C with minor updates and lower price

Sony has relaunched its discontinued WH-1000XM4 as the WH-1000XM4C, keeping the original compact foldable design while adding a 10-band EQ, gaming preset and Bluetooth 6. The XM4C retains the QN1 chip and four-microphone ANC (now available also in lavender), but battery life with ANC falls slightly to 27 hours. Sony prices the XM4C at $300 and also refreshed mid- and entry-level models WH-CH730N and WH-CH530 with EQ upgrades, battery improvements and new colors; limited Hello Kitty-branded bundles will be offered later this year. » More on theverge.com
Sony says it need not pass tariff refunds to PlayStation customers

Sony asked a court to dismiss a class-action alleging it raised PlayStation prices after US tariffs and then claimed refunds from the government. The company argues consumers received the products they paid for, that pricing reflects multiple market factors, and plaintiffs suffered no cognizable injury.
