Madison Mid Cap Fund disclosed a new position in Verisk Analytics, highlighting the company's dominant data and analytics franchise for U.S. property and casualty insurers and its embedded role in clients' workflows. The fund expects continued healthy revenue growth given rising demand for data and said it purchased shares at an attractive valuation amid a sell-off of asset-light businesses. • Verisk Analytics files appeal with Delaware Supreme Court

Verisk Analytics has filed an appeal with the Delaware Supreme Court in the legal case against Exactlogix (AccuLynx) and Richard Spanton, but gave no further details on the subject or grounds. Previously, the Delaware Chancery Court rejected Verisk’s attempt to terminate the $2.35 billion acquisition of AccuLynx and indicated AccuLynx could seek damages. Verisk reported second-quarter adjusted earnings and revenue slightly above estimates and affirmed its full-year outlook, after which BMO Capital raised its price target to $248. The stock traded at $178.85, down 21% year-to-date, with a market capitalization of $23.4 billion. » More on de.investing.com

  • Court forces Verisk Analytics to complete acquisition of AccuLynx and stock tumbles

The Delaware Chancery Court ruled that Verisk caused the collapse of the AccuLynx takeover through willful conduct and ordered the company to complete the $2.35 billion transaction. AccuLynx was also awarded damages for direct costs plus interest, adding financial strain on Verisk. Verisk sharply criticized the ruling and is reviewing options including an appeal, while an ongoing FTC review of the deal remains unresolved. The decision sparked deep uncertainty and pushed the share price down to an intraday low of $180.88, close to the 52-week low of $155.94. » More on de.investing.com
