Adidas recovers after Barclays recommendation
Adidas shares rose more than 2 percent on Wednesday to €151.35, returning to the recent trading range after a successful test of the July interim low. Barclays upgrades Adidas and sees stock as buying opportunity
Barclays has upgraded Adidas from "Equal Weight" to "Overweight" and calls the stock a buying opportunity after a "perfect storm" in the industry. The bank expects the global sporting goods sector to settle at about 4% growth by 2029, with Nike growing roughly 1% and the rest of the industry, including Adidas, about 6% annually. Drivers cited for the upgrade include an ongoing margin recovery at Adidas, the potential to beat the 2026 EBIT target of €2.3bn, possible tariff refunds and the "Home of Innovation" event planned for the end of September. » More on de.investing.com
