Cinemark reports record result at US summer box office
Cinemark achieved the highest US summer box office in the company’s history in the measurement period from the first Friday in May through Labor Day. The company attributes the result to a diverse slate of films and highlights operational strengths such as roughly 500 operated cinemas, more than 1.5 million Movie Club members, and a technical availability rate of 99.97 percent. Cinemark reports that "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" became the highest-grossing film in the company’s domestic market in less than three weeks. The title broke records in premium formats such as Cinemark XD, ScreenX and D-BOX and additionally boosted food and beverage and merchandise sales.
