Dorian LPG has contracted Hanwha Ocean to build three 90,000 m³ dual-fuel Panamax VLGCs for about $345m, scheduled for delivery in June, September and December 2030. The ships will feature engines that burn LPG or low-sulphur fuel, shaft generators and hull/propeller designs aimed at improved energy efficiency and Panama Canal compatibility. The company said the newbuilds support its fleet renewal and emissions reduction strategy, and it also reported that 99% of calendar days for Q3 2026 are forward-fixed above $88,000 per day. The ships will be fitted with engines capable of running on both LPG and low-sulfur fuels, as well as a shaft generator system. For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, Dorian has fixed 99% of its calendar days at a rate above $88,000/day.
