Glencore sets exchange rates for September payout
Glencore will pay a combined cash distribution of $0.17 per ordinary share on 18 September, consisting of a second tranche of $0.085 and a special distribution of $0.085. Shareholders in Jersey who opted for payment in another currency will receive about 12.55 pence, €0.146155 or CHF0.137522 per share; the exchange rates are based on the WM/Reuters closing price of the London Stock Exchange. For the Johannesburg register the amount was already fixed on 18 August. Glencore increases debt financing for Abcourt Mines to up to $40 million
Glencore is boosting its primarily secured senior debenture at Abcourt Mines by $10 million, to up to $40 million. Part of the funds will be used to repay existing debt and credit facilities, and the remainder will go to exploration work, investments in mining projects and working capital. Glencore has set aside a provision of about $480m that essentially covers its entire net exposure to the troubled iron ore trader Radiant World. Radiant World is under pressure over allegations of forged documents; gross receivables are $951m against liabilities of $471m, leaving a net balance of $480m.
