Golden Minerals appoints David Watkins as president and CEO
Pablo Castanos will step down on September 30 as president and CEO of Golden Minerals but will remain on the board. The board has named David Watkins, a company director since 2009, as his successor; Watkins is an exploration geologist with experience in the discovery and development of base and precious metal mines. Golden Minerals also reports that Cascadero Copper has sold its interests in the Sarita Este and Desierto projects to Lumina Copper (First Quantum) and plans an initial drilling program on the Desierto properties; details will follow later this month. » More on de.investing.com
Golden Minerals forms joint venture Sand Canyon Explorations for Nevada exploration
Golden Minerals has, together with Golden Gryphon USA, formed a joint venture called Sand Canyon Explorations LLC to explore mining claims in Humboldt County, Nevada. Golden Minerals holds 60% and will initially operate the joint venture; Golden Gryphon USA owns 40%. The project is near the historic Sleeper mine; earlier drilling in 2020 showed only weak anomalies with no economic grades. Golden Minerals sells Minera William for $1.2m and secures $856,463 in capital
Golden Minerals sells 100% of its subsidiary Minera William to Streamline Metals Capital and Horizon Silver for $1.2 million and additionally raises $856,463 through a private placement with Streamline. Streamline has entered a subscription agreement for 3,740,000 common shares at $0.229 per share and would hold about 19.9% of the issued shares after closing; closing is expected around May 20, 2026.
