Microsoft near all-time high as free cash flow will determine next move
Shares sit close to the $549 record but Microsoft is rated a Hold at $499.70 as surging capital spending (capex up ~80% to $116 billion) has compressed free cash flow despite strong revenue and Azure growth. Management guides roughly 45% constant-currency Azure growth and AI products like Microsoft 365 Copilot show rapid monetization, yet FY27 capex is expected to rise further toward $175 billion. The stock needs a clear free-cash-flow re-accelerationâdriven by Azure outpacing capex, Copilot consumption scaling, or cheaper custom siliconâto convert momentum into a breakout; otherwise valuation risks remain. » More on finance.yahoo.com
Microsoft benefits more in the short term from OpenAI model GPT-6 Astra
OpenAI has introduced GPT-6 Astra, a model that extends AI into productive work agents and thereby makes paid usage more attractive. Nvidia gains structurally from increased demand for GPUs and AI infrastructure, but remains more of an infrastructure winner than a monetization winner. » More on deraktionaer.de
Microsoft says Copilot rarely reproduces substantial news or book text
In legal filings, Microsoft provided 8.2 million Copilot chat logs and said fewer than 1% contained at least 16 words matching publishers' content and only 24 responses matched 30 or more words from books. The company argues these figures show minimal verbatim reproduction and support its claim that using copyrighted works to train AI is fair use because outputs serve different, transformative purposes. Microsoft seeks summary judgment to end consolidated suits from news publishers and authors alleging its models regurgitate copyrighted material. » More on theverge.com
