Samsung advances "Zero Housework" vision and bets on AI-connected home appliances
Samsung is developing AI-driven home appliances such as the Family Hub refrigerator, combined washer/dryer units and voice-controlled air conditioners to largely automate routine tasks by 2040. Samsung succeeds in forcing city of Datteln to re-tender iPad contract
The DĂŒsseldorf Higher Regional Court ruled that the city of Datteln must re-tender the planned order of around 650 iPads in a product-neutral way and may not preselect Apple. The judgment criticizes common procurement practices and could affect state purchases of school IT in Germany. Samsung: record semiconductor exports drive South Korea's exports
South Korea's exports rose 68.7% year-on-year in August, driven by a record in semiconductors, whose shipments climbed 209% to $46.7 billion and now account for 47.5% of total exports. The country posted a trade surplus of nearly $34.8 billion in August, benefiting strongly from global demand for AI infrastructure, but showing vulnerabilities in the event of an AI market correction.
