SunPower shares slid about 17% in premarket trading after details emerged of a completed private placement of $26.2 million. Approximately 103.1 million new common shares are being issued at $0.2541 per share, representing a steep discount to the previous price and heavy dilution for existing shareholders. CEO T.J. SunPower appoints Tom Kowalczuk as CFO and grants 1.0 million RSUs as hiring bonus
SunPower has appointed Tom Kowalczuk as chief financial officer effective June 30, 2026, and granted him 1.0 million restricted stock units as an incentive. Twenty percent of the RSUs vest one year after grant; the remainder vests over the following four years in equal annual installments, subject to continuous employment. The award was approved by the board under NASDAQ Rule 5635(c). SunPower’s Cobalt completes 220.9 kW solar installation at San Francisco Waterfront Plaza
Cobalt Power Systems, a SunPower subsidiary, partnered with Wunder Power to install a 220.9 kW DC solar system at San Francisco’s Waterfront Plaza expected to generate about 349,000 kWh annually. The commercial project required custom-engineered anchor points, installation of 554 high-efficiency modules on a post-tension concrete roof and more than 3,000 ballast blocks to meet seismic and loading requirements.
