Insolvency administrator Jaffé: Wirecard creditors must continue to wait for payments

In his latest status report, insolvency administrator Michael Jaffé urges patience: an initial interim distribution and a reliable estimate of the payout quota remain unforeseeable, since many liability and avoidance proceedings against former managers, EY and insurers are likely to take years. The realization of the investment assets is largely complete, but Jaffé expects liquidation proceeds from Wirecard Bank only in 2026. Wirecard trial of Markus Braun to be decided by year-end, court says

The Munich criminal trial against former Wirecard CEO Markus Braun, who has been facing fraud and breach-of-trust charges since December 2022, is after more than 270 days of hearings heading toward a possible conclusion by the end of 2026. Delays arose from the investigation of another fraud series ("Operation Chargeback") and the absence of former board member Jan Marsalek, nicknamed the "phantom." Key EY auditor Gregor F. testifies in Wirecard trial

Gregor F., who for years organised EY’s audits of Wirecard’s financial statements, is being questioned in the trial. Despite his earlier unqualified confirmations, detailed questioning is now taking place because Wirecard collapsed in the 2020 accounting scandal.
