Burckhardt receives large order from Petrobras for Brazil project

Burckhardt has won two contracts for the Boaventura Energy Complex in Brazil and will deliver six PL2 compressor packages along with associated services for Petrobras. Burckhardt Compression plans to cut up to 220 jobs and to save CHF 20 million annually

The compressor manufacturer plans to cut up to 150 jobs at its Winterthur site and up to 70 jobs internationally due to anticipated lower capacity utilization. The restructuring aims to simplify the organizational structure, consolidate functions and optimise business processes. After full implementation the company expects annual cost savings of around CHF 20 million; one‑off expenses of around CHF 3 million are expected in the first half of fiscal year 2026. At the annual general meeting a dividend of CHF 18.00 for 2026 was approved, with a total of CHF 60.82 million to be distributed to shareholders. The dividend remained unchanged in nominal terms, while the total payout rose by 15.87% compared with the prior year.
