Clearfield introduces three sensor cable types to monitor fiber-optic infrastructure
Clearfield expands its fiber portfolio with distributed fiber-optic sensor cables for temperature, acoustic and strain measurements to monitor outside plant, central offices, data centers and cell sites. The passive, non-powered cables detect digging, unauthorized access, climbing activity, temperature changes and cable strain and are available in non-metallic and steel-armored variants. Sensor data is transmitted to an interrogator and can be integrated into Clearfield's active cabinets, central-office infrastructure and the NOVA platform; the solution complies with IEC 60794-1-2. » More on de.investing.com
Clearfield introduces fault-managed power system for distributed network sites
Clearfield has launched a fault-tolerant power portfolio (Fault Managed Power) designed to supply decentralized radio sites, edge locations and distributed network components with both fiber and power. The offering includes a rack-mounted transmitter (up to 6 kW, four monitored outputs) and indoor and outdoor receivers (outdoor up to 2.5 kW, IP66; high-voltage receivers up to 4 kW at 240–350 V) and supports class‑4 monitored circuits over distances up to 6,000 feet. The solution enables operators to run power along the same routes as fiber using smaller cable gauge and will be showcased at ISE Expo 2026 and Yotta 2026. » More on de.investing.com
