Fanuc share plunges after disappointing quarterly profit despite order boom
Fanuc shares fell 15.0% on Monday to ¥6,068 after operating quarterly profit of ¥53.5bn rose 26.1% but was roughly ¥1bn below the analyst consensus. Orders received climbed 36.9% year on year to ¥281.9bn and comfortably beat expectations. The stock had earlier risen after raising the full-year forecast to ¥218bn; however, disappointment over the profit triggered heavy profit-taking.
