S&P Global Ratings has changed Hyster-Yale’s outlook from "stable" to "negative" and affirmed the issuer rating at B after leverage rose to 8.1x in 2025 and is expected to remain at least one to two quarters above the critical 5x threshold. Adjusted EBITDA margin fell from 8.4% (2024) to 2.2% (2025), and revenue declined 12.5% in 2025 to USD 3.7 billion. S&P forecasts a slight market improvement in 2026 along with cost-reduction measures and operational initiatives that should raise the adjusted EBITDA margin to about 3.6% and reduce leverage to roughly 4.3x by year-end.
