  • DUH calls on KBA to intervene over allegations against KTM of sham homologation

Deutsche Umwelthilfe has asked the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt to investigate KTM. It accuses the manufacturer of type-approving detuned enduro models while simultaneously providing conversion/software solutions that increase power, noise and emissions far beyond the approval. According to DUH, up to 32 models and around 25,000 vehicles registered in Germany are affected. KTM rejects the allegations; a possible KBA procedure could lead to recalls, retrofits and sanctions. » More on kurier.at

  • KTM completes restructuring proceedings, creditors receive 30 percent

Bajaj Auto had previously taken a majority stake and provided around €600 million to prevent a wind-down. Pierer Mobility plans to ramp up production at the end of July and realign the group; the insolvency was caused in November 2024 by a sharp drop in demand and excessive inventories. » More on t-online.de

  • KTM under pressure after allegations over derestricted enduro motorcycles

Reports suggest dealers are delivering restricted KTM enduro models that can be easily reverted to high‑performance, road‑illegal condition; tests are said to far exceed emissions and noise limits. KTM rejects the allegations and stresses vehicles are delivered compliant as standard, saying modifications were made at customers' request with a warning that registration would be voided. Germany's Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt is investigating; investors see increased legal and reputational risks, causing a sharp share price drop for parent company Bajaj Mobility. » More on faz.net
