Meeka shifts strategy to underground mining after weak half-year
At the Noosa Mining Conference, Meeka announced a clear shift from open-pit to owner-operated underground mining following a disappointing half-year. The company has invested about 145 million AUD in infrastructure and considers the investment cycle largely complete, anticipating lower capital expenditure, higher ore grades and stronger cash flow. Andy Well is being ramped up, Turnberry is set for portal breakthrough in September, and first ore deliveries are expected early next year.
